Britain's construction industry is pushing wages higher across the economy due to a shortage of workers to fill available jobs.
The industry has experienced the highest rate of salary growth of all sectors between February to July.
Companies within the sector have increased advertised pay by 6.7%, trying to draw in more workers into the industry.
This is compared to a wage growth of 0.8% across all jobs, according to the job site indeed.
The Office for National Statistics recently revealed that, between May and July, there were 38,000 vacancies in the construction industry.
A record high.
This is the latest indicator of the construction industries labour shortages.
It is estimated that an extra 216,800 construction workers will be needed by 2025, as the demand in the industry continues.
