Plant Inspector Groundworks and Civil Engineering

£45k - £55k

Northampton

Built on strong relationships, exceptional service and a people ethos, this family-run, civil engineering and residential groundworks company are subcontractors to national housebuilders. Their long-standing clients have enabled them to expand organically.

As a Plant Inspector you will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting plant and equipment to ensure company compliance with PUWER and LOLER regulations. 
  • Provide quality control of repair and maintenance work carried out onsite. 

This includes:

  • Carrying out LOLER inspections of plant and machinery. 
  • Carrying out PUWER inspections of plant and machinery. 
  • Carrying out inspection of work carried out by plant fitters on site to maintain quality and standards. 
  • Carrying out LOLER inspections of chains and lifting equipment. 
  • Generating LOLER and PUWER certificates for record keeping. 
  • Assisting plant manager with technical and warranty queries and issues. 
  • Carrying out off hire inspections of owned plant. 
  • Providing technical support to sites and plant team. 
  • Light plant fitting duties such as jump-starting machines and changing fuel filters.  
  • Monitor condition of plant assets.

Must haves…

  • NVQ qualified to carry out inspections 
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of all types of plant and machinery. 
  • Diagnostic and fault finding skills. 
  • I.T skills to generate reports and certificates.
